craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events. This site is the best... I have found quite a few part-time writing gigs on this site.

The great thing about working from home (referred to as 'telecommuting"), you can work in any city across the country- or across any country, for that matter. I got a few writing gigs in Canada once--kinda wierd with the pay, but it worked out just fine.

Anyways, click on your favorite city. Then click the "jobs' link that will take you to all different types of job in a plethora of fields. click the "telecommute" box, and away you go! Writing, radio, TV, healthcare, teaching, hospitality- you name it, it's there!

Now, a word of advice for you- if a job posting is older than 3 days, don;t even bother applying for it. Posts on Craigslist attract thousands of responses each day they're up. Now don't get discouraged about this, it just means you need to be persistent.

(Please note: There is a fine line between persistent and annoying)
