    Default The 30%-50% Rule

My buddy (who tried very hard to refinance my house, but failed) informed me about 2 years ago that if your credit card balances are more than 30%-50% of the limit, your score starts to slide. So if your credit limit is $1,000, any balance more than $300-$500 isn't good. Interesting, 'eh?

This is true. It's probably preferable that you keep your balances under 30%.
