Default National Check Protection Services (NCPS)

A visitor recently asked me this question:

Quote:
What must I do to get my name cleared in the national check protection service, I tried to write a check and it would not allow me to. What do I do to straighten this out earlier in the summer I had 3 checks returned and I paid them off in full with all the check fees attached?
Here is my reply:

NCPS was acquired by eFunds Corporation back in 2005. eFunds is the same company that owns ChexSystems. I believe they've consolidated their "bad check" reporting services under the SCAN brand name. And, according to their FAQ, your "bad check" report should drop off once you've resolved the returned check issue and the subscribing member or retailer reports it back to SCAN.
