ChexSystems Inquiries
A visitor recently asked me whether or not applying for a bank account creates an inquiry on your ChexSystems report. The answer is yes, as long as that specific bank uses ChexSystems to verify new accounts.
Applying for many bank accounts at one time is not recommended because it may cause a red flag to go up. Some banks see this as an alert to fraudulent activity and if you have opened up too many accounts or attempted to in a certain time frame, sometimes they will deny you based on that information alone.
